"It has never bothered me that a person liked one of the same sex. It is all just attraction right? Even some animals can go after either gender."
"Hurry your ass up Serath!" The 18 year old redhead shouted. Ether had grown quite alot since he found the black haired male. His hair was slightly longer now, down to his shoulders. His emerald green eyes shimmered in the fading fall light. Winter was upon them and it was exactly seven years since him and his sister had met Serath in that horrible castle. Ether was glad that he met Serath.
"I AM hurrying you jerk!" Serath yelled back, chasing his friend through the snowy field. Instead of the thin, scrawny boy that he used to be, Serath was more lean and handsome. His black hair was neatly trimmed. Short in the back and long in the front. Ether had told him that it looked hot on him and he kept it.
"Honestly you two? Horses don't catch themselves now do they?" Melody shouted from the house. She put a hand on her swollen belly. She had married a man who ended up going out to battle and never returning. She never showed how much it pained her, but rather focussed on awaiting her baby's arrival. She was nearing the day when her baby would be born. She smiled as her two boys raced after the horses. Her long red hair flared around her as the wind picked up. "Hurry now! A storm is coming!"
Serath smirked and jumped onto one of the brown side fences. He winked at Ether and jumped from the fence and towards a large black stallion.
"You are fucking insane!" Ether yelled, worry settling into his face. His face turned to shock when Serath landed perfectly onto the stallion and rode the horse around to gather the mares. He smiled as the wing brushed through his hair, whipping small flakes of snow as they began to fall from the heavens. This was the season Serath loved, ever since he was saved.

"You. Are. An. IDIOT." Ether chided, pointing a finger at the red-faced and sniffling male. "AND a show off!" He then smirked. "Oh Sera~ I didn't know you wanted my attention so bad~"
Serath laughed and punched his friend in the arm, so glad that his wind-whipped face was red already. It hid the blush that crept up his face. The raven haired male grinned mischieviously.
"Of course Ethy~" He cooed. "Aaannnyyyything to woo you~" Ether shoved Serath into the straw that collected in a pile at one end of the horse stables and pinned him down. The two started laughing as they began to wrestle.
"Take it like man!" Ether shouted, burying Serath into the straw. Ether grinned like a demon and sat on him. "I. Win. Simple as tha-" He was cut off to Serath flipping them and pinning him instead. The two stared at each other, unaware of twin blushes beginning.
"Ah! Sorry!" Serath got up and helped his friend up. He shivered. "Ready to go inside?"
"Of course! Race you there!" Ether bolted out of the stables and towards the house. Serath nearly rammed into the redhead as said male came to a complete stop.
"Ether what-" He broke off the see the house's door hanging wide open. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong. The two boys could both feel it. "Follow me." Serath snuck towards the door, grabbing a wooden post from a pile of broken fence wood. Ether did the same.
It was silent, too silent for either of their liking. Ether looked around, seeing something dark and wet trailing across the small kitchen floor. Serath shivered. He didn't like the feeling of this.
"Melody?!" Ether shouted. They both stopped and listened. A scuffling noise drew their attention towards their living room. The two silently snuck closer and froze when they looked in.
Four wolves were ripping at a body. And not just any body, the body of Melody herself. Ether lost it.
"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!" He swung the post at them and hit two to the side. All four turned and snarled at the redhead.
"Ether! Get out of there! Those are crazed wolves!" Serath shouted. He grabbed Ether and led him, and the wolves, outside. Ether turned to Serath.
"I must kill them! They took Melody's life!" Ether ran at a wolf and began beating it with the post. Serath couldn't do anything but jump in and protect his friend. The two took turns attacking each wolf until at least three of them fled, wounded.
"Fucking! Piece! Of! Shit!" Ether shouted through tears of anger and despair. He bludgered the already dead wolf over and over again until it was nearly unidentifiable. Finally, the redhead collapsed into the snow and cried.
"Ether...." Serath put a hand out then took it back and hugged his friend. The two could only sit there and cry through the slowly growing snowstorm.
"That was when I truely began to love him."

"Death was the beginning....."
It had been three years since the fateful day when Melody died. Ether put flowers down by the small wooden cross with a wolf carved into it.
"Did you know that Melody loved wolves?" The redhead asked through tears. Serath put a hand on his shoulder.
"No, I didn't." He said softly, letting his friend cry. He turned the redhead to him. "Ether... What happens if I like someone of the same sex?" Ether looked up at him.
"I would say to go for it.. Unless it is the King's son.. Then that-" He broke off to Serath laughing. "What is so funny?"
"You are so clueless." Serath said.
"What do you-" He cut off to Serath taking his face between his hands and kissing him gently on the lips. Ether was confused but delighted. He smiled into it and wrapped his arms around the raven haired male's neck. The two melted together, tongues and lips dancing.
Too bad they didn't see the shadow of a man running away from the scene.
"......Of the Hell that would control my life."
